Hi everyone, I recently set up a wireless door sensor on my Qolsys IQ Panel 2 and wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone else. I wanted the sensor to notify me whenever the door opens or closes, but without triggering the alarm system when it’s armed. At first, I was a bit confused about how to configure this, but after some research and trial and error, I figured it out!
The key was to adjust the settings in the Qolsys IQ Panel 2’s configuration menu. I found that I could set the door sensor to send notifications independently of the alarm system. This way, I get a push notification on my phone whenever the door status changes, but the alarm stays silent unless I manually disarm the system. It’s been working perfectly for a few weeks now!
If anyone else is looking to do something similar, I’d recommend checking the sensor’s settings within your security panel’s app. Look for options related to notifications or alerts that aren’t tied to the alarm system. It might take a bit of digging, but it’s definitely doable!
I’m really happy with how this setup works. It gives me the peace of mind of knowing when the door is accessed without the hassle of false alarms. Plus, it’s a great way to monitor the door even when I’m not home. I hope this helps someone else out there! ![]()
