Working on an upcoming video about Homeassistant featuring some aqara devices

I’m currently preparing a video about Home Assistant that will feature some Aqara devices, and I’d love to get some feedback from the community.

Here’s a quick look at some of the devices I own right now:
• Wireless mini switch
• Smart wall switch E1 (no neutral)
• Wireless remote switch E1 (single/double rocker)
• Roller shade driver E1

All of them are connected via MQTT, and so far the experience has been smooth, battery levels are reporting correctly for most devices, and the control feels responsive.

In the video, I plan to cover:
• Setup and pairing process with Home Assistant
• Pros/cons of using MQTT for integration
• Real-world reliability and responsiveness
• How these devices fit into everyday automations (lighting, shading, remote triggers, etc.)

Before I finalize my script, I’d like to hear from you:
• Which Aqara devices do you use with Home Assistant?
• Have you run into any quirks or issues worth mentioning?
• Any advanced automations or creative setups you’d like me to highlight?

Your input will help make the video more complete and useful for both new and experienced users.

Thanks in advance, I’ll be sure to share the finished video here once it’s live!

@caiodelgadonew That’s an awesome initiative! It’s great that you’re planning to create a video about using Aqara devices with Home Assistant. Your planned coverage sounds really comprehensive and will surely be beneficial to the community.

The devices you own seem like great choices for showcasing the integration. The fact that you’ve had a smooth experience so far with MQTT connection, accurate battery level reporting, and responsive control is also a plus.

I’m looking forward to seeing your video. As for the questions you posed:

  • I haven’t personally used these devices with Home Assistant yet, but I’m sure other community members will chime in with their experiences.
  • Regarding quirks or issues, it would be interesting to see if anyone has faced any challenges during the setup or in day-to-day use.
  • And for advanced automations and creative setups, this could be a great opportunity to inspire others in the community.

I really appreciate you reaching out to the community for feedback. It shows your commitment to making the video as useful as possible. Keep us updated, and I can’t wait to watch the final video! If you have any suggestions or recommendations for improvement, you can submit feedback manually through customer service.

Hi, I use 3 FP2 presence sensors, couple of temp sensors, 3 door window sensors( one is matter), 2 v1 switches and aqara HubM3 (mainly due to v1 switches), smoke sensor and 2 leak sensors. Main problem is of course with v1 switches which are not possible to be full integrated with HA without M3
EDIT: if you don’t have access to V1 switches I can share with you some remarks or even record something what you can use in your material.
