The Zigbee system works perfectly with Home Assistant, as I already have connected devices.
I only have my WS-K08E switch; the four LEDs should be flashing. However, they aren’t! Furthermore, when I try to pair it with Home Assistant, it doesn’t detect anything!

The H2 light switches are in Thread mode by default. You can reflash the firmware by initiating the pairing process in the Aqara app (you don’t need to have an Aqara hub).
Open the Aqara app, click plus > Add accessory. Find your H2 switch and click it. The app will ask you about Zigbee or Thread mode. Click Zigbee and wait until the firmware is downloaded. After this process, the app will go back to pairing mode (this time in Zigbee mode) - you can abandon this process now.
If you want to hard reset the switch, just flash Thread firmware again and then Zigbee firmware back by repeating the above steps 2 times
