Wyze Cam Battery Issues and Lifespan Concerns

I’ve been using Wyze cameras for a while now, and I’ve really appreciated their affordability and ease of setup. However, I’ve recently encountered some issues with the battery life of my outdoor camera that I’m hoping to get some advice on.

A few weeks ago, I noticed that my Wyze outdoor cam was suddenly showing 0% battery life, even though it was supposed to be charging. I tried unplugging it and letting it charge again, but it only went up to 88% and then died within an hour. The red light blinks occasionally, but the app still shows 0%. This is concerning because the camera is about two years old and has been consistently reliable until now.

I’m wondering if this is a common issue with Wyze outdoor cams and if there’s a way to fix it without having to replace the entire unit. Is the battery lifespan really only around two years? I’ve updated the firmware and the app, so I don’t think that’s the issue.

On a positive note, I’ve had great success with my Wyze pan cams for surveillance purposes. They’ve been invaluable in keeping an eye on my property, especially with their night vision and motion detection features. I just wish the outdoor cam’s battery issues could be resolved.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems with their Wyze cameras? Any troubleshooting tips or insights would be greatly appreciated!
