Hey everyone! I wanted to share my experience with the Wyze Cam Floodlight v2. I recently noticed that the lights on my camera wouldn’t turn off, no matter what I tried. They stayed on continuously, which was pretty frustrating. Here’s what I did to resolve the issue:
-
Checked Floodlight Settings: I started by reviewing the floodlight settings in the Wyze app. Everything looked normal, so I knew it wasn’t a simple setting issue.
-
Reset the Application: Next, I decided to reset the Wyze app. I logged out, uninstalled the app, reinstalled it, and logged back in. Still, the lights remained on.
-
Reset the Camera: I then tried resetting the camera itself. I held down the settings button until the LED started flashing, and the camera rebooted. Unfortunately, this didn’t solve the problem either.
-
Network Check: I made sure my network was functioning properly. The camera was connected to Wi-Fi, and everything else on my network was working fine.
-
Brightness Adjustment: As a temporary fix, I adjusted the brightness to the minimum level. This helped until I could find a more permanent solution.
-
Contacting Support: Finally, I reached out to Wyze support. They were incredibly helpful and suggested a firmware update. After updating, the issue was resolved, and the lights now turn off as they should!
This experience taught me the importance of checking for firmware updates and not hesitating to reach out to customer support when needed. I’m really happy with how Wyze Cam Floodlight v2 performs now, and I’m glad I persisted in finding a solution.
If anyone else is experiencing similar issues, I recommend trying these steps. It’s always a bit stressful when smart home devices don’t work as expected, but with patience and the right approach, you can usually resolve them!
