Installing my Wyze Cam Pan Outdoor at my weekend house in Vermont was a breeze! I’ve had an older Foscam there for years, so I reused the mount. I upgraded the screws to 1.25" Grip-Right exterior screws for better security. The camera is well-sheltered under the roof overhang, which should protect it from harsh weather.
I’ve been impressed with the night vision, especially when the front light is on. However, in low-light conditions without the light, the visibility is a bit lacking. Since it’s an indoor cam, I guess that’s expected. I’m considering leaving the front light on at night since it uses LED bulbs and doesn’t consume much energy.
For anyone looking to save on battery costs, I recommend using rechargeable lithium-ion AA batteries, like the Kentli brand. They’ve been reliable so far, and I’m hopeful they’ll last longer than alkaline batteries. It’s a small way to contribute to sustainability!
The camera has been handling the windy conditions well, though motion alerts are frequent. I’m confident it’ll hold up through Vermont’s variable weather. I’ll keep the community updated on its performance!
If anyone has tips for improving low-light performance or battery life, I’d love to hear them! Thanks to the community for all the helpful advice!
