Wyze Cam Motion Detection Issues

Hello everyone, I’m reaching out to seek some advice regarding my Wyze Cam’s motion detection. It’s been a frustrating experience, and I’m hoping someone here might have encountered a similar issue or could offer some guidance.

I’ve had my Wyze Cam for several months now, and while it’s served me well in capturing footage, I’ve consistently struggled with its motion detection feature. Last night, unfortunately, it became a significant concern when my car was broken into right in front of the camera. Despite the intruder being there for over a minute, the Wyze Cam didn’t trigger any motion alerts. This has left me both upset and concerned for my property’s security.

I’ve spent considerable time going through all the suggested settings and troubleshooting steps. I’ve adjusted the sensitivity levels, ensured the camera isn’t picking up false positives, and even reset the device to its factory settings. Yet, the problem persists, and I’m at a loss for what else I can try.

Is it possible that the camera itself is defective, or could there be an underlying software issue that’s preventing the motion detection from functioning as intended?
