Wyze Cam OG Sound Issues and Family Monitoring

I wanted to share my experience with the Wyze Cam OG, particularly regarding its sound capabilities. I’ve been using this camera to monitor my elderly parents, which has been incredibly helpful in ensuring their well-being. However, I’ve encountered a couple of issues that I hope others might have solutions for.

Firstly, the video clips start recording sound perfectly, but midway through, the audio cuts out even when people are clearly speaking. This is frustrating, especially when trying to monitor conversations or check in on their daily activities. Additionally, after the latest firmware update, every clip defaults to being muted, which adds another layer of inconvenience.

I’ve tried resetting the camera and powering it down, but the problem persists. Does anyone have any tips or workarounds for this issue? I’d love to hear if others are experiencing the same and how they’ve managed to resolve it.

On a more positive note, the Wyze Cam OG has been a reliable device overall, and I’m grateful for the peace of mind it provides. It’s just these sound-related quirks that are a bit of a nuisance. I’m hopeful that Wyze will address these issues in future updates.

If anyone has any suggestions or similar experiences, I’d love to hear about them! Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other troubleshoot these smart home devices.
