I’ve been on a bit of a rollercoaster trying to set up my new Wyze Cam Pan V2 cameras. After successfully setting up two without any issues, the third one decided to throw me for a loop. The setup process kept timing out, even though the device showed up in my router’s DHCP list with the correct IP and MAC address. Frustrating, to say the least!
My network setup is pretty robust—I’ve got a mesh network with six Asus AX6600 routers, separate SSIDs for 2.4G and 5G bands, and strong 2.4G signal coverage. I tried all the usual troubleshooting steps: resetting the camera, power cycling it, even trying different routers. Nothing worked. It was a real letdown, especially after the smooth setup of the first two cameras.
After some research and reaching out to the community, I discovered that the issue might be related to the camera’s firmware or compatibility with my network setup. I decided to give it another shot, this time ensuring that the camera was as close as possible to the router and using a fresh power source. Miraculously, it worked! The camera finally connected without any issues.
This experience taught me the importance of patience and persistence when dealing with tech setups. It also highlighted the value of community support—without the advice and encouragement from others who’ve been through similar struggles, I might have given up altogether. Now that all three cameras are up and running, I’m really enjoying the peace of mind they provide. Fingers crossed the fourth one goes smoothly!
If anyone else is having trouble with their Wyze Cam setup, don’t lose hope! Try different approaches, seek advice from the community, and keep at it. You’ll get there eventually!
