Wyze Cam V2 Firmware Auto-Update Experience

I wanted to share my recent experience with the Wyze Cam V2 firmware auto-update. Earlier this week, my camera rebooted twice within a 5-minute window and automatically updated to the latest firmware version 4.49.14.3137. While the update itself worked seamlessly, I noticed some unusual behavior during the process. There was a 1-minute gap in live footage during the first reboot and a 3-minute gap during the second reboot. This was unexpected, as I had previously disabled the auto-update feature for this camera.\I currently have a mix of Wyze cameras (V2, V3, V4, OG, and Pan Cam V3), and only the V3 model has the auto-update option enabled. It’s concerning that the V2 model auto-updated without my explicit permission, especially since there’s no indication that this update was mandatory or forced. I generally prefer to wait before updating firmware on my devices to ensure stability.\So far, the camera seems to be functioning properly, but I’m curious if others have experienced similar auto-updates on their Wyze cameras, particularly the Pan Cam V2. I’d also like to know if firmware updates could be forced on other devices, even if their auto-update options are turned off. Has anyone encountered this issue, and if so, how did you resolve it?\I’m hopeful that Wyze will provide more transparency on their firmware update policies and ensure users have full control over when updates are applied. In the meantime, I’ll keep a close eye on my cameras to monitor any further updates or potential issues.\If anyone has insights or tips on managing firmware updates for Wyze devices, I’d love to hear them! Let’s keep the discussion going and help each other navigate these updates smoothly.
