Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the recent Wyze Cam v2 firmware update! Earlier this week, I noticed that my Wyze Cam v2 wasn’t detecting motion as reliably as it used to. It was frustrating because I rely on it for monitoring my backyard. I decided to check for firmware updates and found that version 4.9.5.36 was available. After updating, the difference was night and day!
What’s New?
- Complete Motion Capture: This add-on service records to the cloud whenever motion is detected. I’m thrilled about the free trial—it’s perfect for testing before committing.
- Bug Fixes: Motion detection, notifications, and local recording issues have been resolved. My cam is now consistently detecting motion and sending alerts.
My Experience
Before the update, I’d often get false alerts or missed detections. Now, it’s much more reliable. The app also feels smoother, and the video quality remains crisp even during motion events.
Tips for Others
If you haven’t updated yet, I highly recommend doing so. The process was straightforward—just head to the Wyze app, go to Settings > Devices > Wyze Cam v2, and follow the prompts. If you encounter any issues, make sure your cam is connected to Wi-Fi and restart it before updating.
I’m curious if others have noticed improvements with this firmware update. Have you tried the Complete Motion Capture service? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
