Hey everyone, I’ve been having an issue with my Wyze Cam V2 cameras going offline periodically. It started a few weeks ago, and it’s been a bit frustrating. Let me share my experience and how I managed to resolve it, just in case someone else is facing the same problem.
Initially, all seven of my Cam V2 and Cam Pan units were offline, and I couldn’t access them remotely. The error code I received was 90, and the app kept prompting me to restart the camera. I tried power cycling one of the cameras through a Wemo smart plug, and it did come back online. However, the other six cameras remained offline despite my efforts.
After some research, I discovered that sometimes a full factory reset is necessary to resolve persistent connectivity issues. I decided to give it a try. Here’s what I did:
-
Unplug the Camera: I removed the power adapter from the camera to ensure it was completely powered down.
-
Factory Reset: I held down the power button for about 15 seconds until the LED light started blinking rapidly. This indicated that the camera was in reset mode.
-
Reboot: After the reset, I plugged the camera back in and waited for it to reboot. The LED turned solid, and I could see it reconnecting to my Wi-Fi network.
-
Re-registration: I opened the Wyze app, and the camera was detected automatically. I followed the prompts to re-register it with my account.
-
Testing: I waited a few minutes to ensure the camera was fully connected and functional. Thankfully, it worked like a charm!
Since performing the factory reset, the camera has been online and functioning perfectly. I’ve also noticed that the other cameras that were offline are now showing signs of reconnecting. I’m hopeful that they’ll all come back online soon.
If you’re experiencing similar issues, I highly recommend trying a factory reset before considering more drastic measures like returning the device. It’s a simple fix that can save you a lot of hassle.
Let me know if anyone else has had success with this method or if there are alternative solutions that have worked for you. Happy automating! ![]()
