Wyze Cam V3 Light Control Issue

Hi everyone, I’ve been using the Wyze Cam V3 with a Wyze lamp socket for a while now, and I wanted to share my experience and a workaround I found for an issue I encountered.

The problem I faced was that I couldn’t control the light bulb on the Wyze lamp socket when the camera was turned off. This was quite frustrating because I wanted to have independent control over the lamp socket and the camera. After some research and experimentation, I discovered that this issue arises because the camera and the lamp socket are linked in a way that turning off the camera disables access to the lamp socket controls.

To resolve this, I found that manually turning off the wall switch and then turning it back on again allowed me to control the light bulb independently. While this isn’t a perfect solution, it works as a temporary fix until Wyze addresses the issue in a future update.

I hope this helps someone else who might be facing the same problem. If anyone has a better workaround or a solution, I’d love to hear about it!
