Hey everyone, I’ve been using Wyze Cam Pan V3 and V4 cameras for a while now, and I really love the resolution of the V4 and the spotlight feature. However, I’ve noticed some recent changes that have made the V4s a bit harder to use. Let me share my experience and see if anyone else is dealing with the same issues or has any solutions.
First, the Recent Events list on the V4 cameras now includes a text description below the time and icons. While this might seem helpful at first glance, it actually reduces the number of events that can be viewed at once. I find this quite inconvenient because I prefer to scroll through events quickly without having to switch to the Events tab. Is there a setting I’m missing that could disable this text description? I’ve checked the app settings, but I don’t see any option to turn it off.
Another issue I’ve encountered is the missing progress bar when viewing videos from the Recent Events list. The Pan V3s and older V4s used to display a progress bar below the event screen, which was really helpful for navigating through videos. Now, the V4s no longer show this progress bar, though it does appear when viewing videos from the Events tab. I’m wondering if this is an intentional change or if it’s a bug that might be fixed in a future firmware update.
I’d love to hear from others who are using the V4 cameras. Have you noticed these changes? Do you have any workarounds or suggestions to make the Recent Events list more user-friendly? I’m also curious if there’s a way to revert to the previous version of the app or firmware to regain the progress bar functionality.
