Hi everyone,
I’ve been using Wyze V2 cameras for the past three years in my cabin, and they’ve been working perfectly. However, recently I noticed a significant increase in data usage on my home network. This is a big issue because I rely on an LTE connection with only a 50GB monthly data cap.
The problem started after I upgraded my Wyze plan from Cam Plus Lite to Cam Plus Unlimited. Now, I’m seeing high daily data usage, even during times when no one is home or when there’s no actual activity. For example, I noticed 8GB of data used between 11 pm and 3 am, which is puzzling. Despite this, the Wyze app only shows a handful of recorded events each day, and I barely use live view.
I also have a smart Wi-Fi socket and a Zigbee bridge connected to the network, but they don’t use much data. This leads me to believe the issue is with the Wyze cameras. I’d really appreciate any advice on how to monitor or reduce the data usage of these cameras. Is there a way to check the actual data transfer for each camera on the Wyze side? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
Best regards,
