Wyze Camera Issues: Caller ID and Privacy Concerns

Wyze Camera Issues: Caller ID and Privacy Concerns

Hello everyone,

I’ve been having some trouble with my Wyze cameras lately, and I thought I’d share my experiences and see if anyone else is dealing with similar issues or might have some solutions.

First, let me talk about the caller ID problem. I’ve noticed that when I receive phone calls, the Wyze Watch app on my phone only shows the phone number instead of the caller’s name. I’ve checked all the settings, optimized battery usage, and even reinstalled the app multiple times. Strangely, when I swapped my watch with my wife’s, the issue followed the new watch, which suggests it might not be a hardware problem but something related to my account or settings. I’m an IT professional, so I’m pretty comfortable with troubleshooting, but this one has me stumped. If anyone has any ideas or solutions, I’d greatly appreciate it!

Now, onto a more concerning issue I’ve come across. I’ve heard from several users, including some on Reddit, that they’re seeing other people’s camera feeds and events in their Wyze app. This is alarming and raises serious privacy concerns. I’ve been using Wyze for a while now, and while I’ve had my share of frustrations, this takes the cake. I’m wondering if there’s a bug in the system or if there’s something users can do to secure their accounts better. I’ve also noticed that my old events have disappeared from the Events tab, which is unsettling. I’d love to hear if anyone else is experiencing this and if there are any workarounds or solutions.

On a slightly more positive note, I’ve found that Wyze cameras are generally reliable once you get past the initial setup. The video quality is good, and the app works smoothly most of the time. It’s just these quirks and occasional glitches that are a bit frustrating.

If anyone has any advice or insights on these issues, please share! I’m hoping we can figure this out together.

Best regards,
Earl
