Wyze Camera Motion Detection and Smart Lighting Integration

Hey everyone, I’ve been exploring the world of smart home automation lately, and I’m really excited to share my experience with the Wyze Cam 2 and how it integrates with my Z-Wave smart lights. I’ve been using the Wyze Cam 2 for a few weeks now, and it’s been a fantastic addition to my setup. The motion detection feature is pretty reliable, and I love how it can be customized to suit my needs. However, I’ve encountered a small issue that I’m hoping the community can help me with.

So, here’s the setup: I have an Arlo Q camera in my loft, and I’ve been trying to use the Smart Lighting app to automatically turn on the lights when the camera detects motion. The lights do turn on just fine when motion is detected, but I’ve noticed that after a few minutes, the lights turn off again. The problem arises when the lights turn off, the camera detects it as motion, and the lights turn back on. It’s creating this endless loop, and it’s a bit frustrating. I’ve tried adjusting the settings in the Smart Lighting app, but I can’t seem to find a solution that stops the lights from turning off after a certain period without triggering the motion sensor again.

I’ve also tried setting up routines in Alexa to handle this, but it doesn’t seem to resolve the issue. I’m wondering if there’s a way to configure the lights or the camera to ignore the light changes once they’re turned on. Maybe there’s a setting I’m missing or a different app that can handle this scenario better. I’d really appreciate any advice or tips from those who have successfully integrated their cameras and lights without running into this problem.

On a positive note, I’ve been impressed with how the Wyze Cam 2 works with my existing smart home ecosystem. The integration with Alexa has been seamless, and I love the ability to view live feeds and receive notifications directly on my phone. It’s also great to have the option to adjust the sensitivity of the motion detection, which has helped reduce false alarms. I’m hopeful that with some tweaks and the help of the community, I can get this setup working perfectly.

If anyone has faced a similar issue or has a workaround, I’d love to hear about it. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other optimize our smart home setups!
