Wyze Camera Pet Detection Issues: Seeking Solutions and Experiences

Hey everyone, I’ve been having some frustrating issues with my Wyze cameras and wanted to reach out to see if anyone else has encountered similar problems or might have some advice. I live in a remote area and rely heavily on my Wyze cameras for security, especially since I have pets and wildlife frequently passing through.

The issue I’m facing is that my cameras don’t seem to detect pets or wildlife unless there’s another object in the frame, like a parked car or a person. Even then, it’s hit or miss. I’ve reported this multiple times to support, but unfortunately, I haven’t received any helpful responses yet.

A few weeks ago, my cat was killed in my driveway, and it broke my heart because neither of the two cameras nearby picked up any motion. The area looked like a crime scene, and my cat put up a fierce fight, but the cameras didn’t register anything. This has left me feeling vulnerable and unsure how to protect my other pets.

I’ve tried everything I can think of—firmware updates, adjusting settings, and even reaching out to support again, but it feels like I’m stuck in a loop. I’ve heard from others in the community who’ve had similar experiences, so I’m hoping someone here might have a workaround or advice on how to improve detection.

I’ve also noticed that during a brief period last winter, my cameras started detecting animals, but it stopped just as suddenly. I’ve double-checked all my settings and ensured everything is up to date. Does anyone have any suggestions beyond the obvious solution of switching brands? I’m heavily invested in Wyze products, but this issue is really concerning.

Has anyone else had success with detecting larger animals like deer, bobcats, or even birds like eagles or hawks? I’d love to hear about your experiences and any tips you might have. I’m really hoping the community can shed some light on this for me.

Thanks in advance for your help and insights!
