Hello everyone, I wanted to share my experience setting up my Wyze cameras and also throw out a few feature requests that would make these devices even better for my home security setup. First off, I must say that the Wyze Cam Outdoor has been a fantastic addition to my smart home setup. The video quality is excellent, and the integration with my smart hub has been seamless. However, there are a couple of things that I think could be improved to make the experience even better.
One feature I would love to see is the ability to adjust the motion detection sensitivity more precisely. While the current settings work well for general use, I often find that minor movements, like a flag blowing in the wind, trigger alerts unnecessarily. It would be great if there were more granular settings to fine-tune what counts as motion. Speaking of motion detection, I also think it would be awesome if the cameras could differentiate between different types of motion, like distinguishing between a person and an animal. This would help reduce false alarms even further.
Another thing I’ve been thinking about is the ability to customize the notification sounds. Right now, all alerts use the same default sound, which can get a bit repetitive. It would be great if there were a variety of sounds to choose from, or even the option to upload a custom sound. This would allow me to set different alerts for different types of events, making it easier to quickly identify what’s happening.
Lastly, I would love to see an option to extend the recording time for motion events. Currently, the videos are limited to 12 seconds, which is great for quick checks, but sometimes I want to capture more of the event. I understand that this might require more storage, but it would be worth it for the added peace of mind.
Overall, I’m really happy with my Wyze cameras, and I think they have the potential to be even better with a few tweaks. I’d love to hear what features others would like to see added to these devices. Let’s keep the conversation going and make our voices heard!
