Hi everyone, I’ve been using Wyze cameras for a while now and I must say, they’ve been a great addition to my home security setup. However, I’ve recently encountered some issues that have been a bit frustrating. Let me share my experience and see if anyone else has faced similar problems or has any solutions to offer.
First off, I purchased the Wyze Cam V2 with the intention of having reliable outdoor surveillance. The camera has been working well in terms of video quality and ease of setup. However, I’ve noticed that the playback feature isn’t holding up as expected. I’ve been using an 32GB microSD card, and while the camera does record, the playback only lasts for about 5 days instead of the advertised 7-8 days. I’ve tried different cards, but the issue persists. Does anyone have any insights into why this might be happening or how to resolve it?
Another issue I’ve encountered is related to firmware updates. I recently updated my Wyze Cam V2 to the latest firmware, and while the update seemed to go smoothly, I noticed that the video feed occasionally freezes or gets stuck at the “getting video data” screen. This is particularly annoying when I’m trying to monitor the camera remotely. I’ve tried restarting the camera and the app, but the problem doesn’t go away. Has anyone else experienced similar issues post-update?
On a more positive note, I’ve found the Wyze app to be user-friendly and the customer support has been responsive when I reached out to them. However, I’m still hoping for a fix to these playback and firmware-related issues.
If anyone has any tips or tricks to optimize the camera’s performance or extend the playback duration, I’d be more than grateful to hear them. Also, if there’s a way to troubleshoot the video freezing issue, that would be fantastic.
