I’ve been trying to set up my Wyze lamp socket to turn on automatically when motion is detected in the dark and then turn off after 5 minutes. Here’s what I’ve been doing:
- Motion Detection in the Dark: I’ve enabled motion detection and set it to trigger only when it’s dark, which should be after sunset and before sunrise.
- Timer Settings: I’ve set the timer to keep the lamps on for exactly 5 minutes after motion is detected.
However, I’m running into an issue where the lamp stays on even during daylight hours. For example, at 11 AM, the lamp is still on from the previous night. I’ve checked the motion events and there weren’t many triggers, so I don’t think the motion sensor is too sensitive. But even if it was, shouldn’t the lamp turn off at sunrise?
I’ve been having this problem since I first installed the socket about 5 months ago. I assumed it would be fixed with a firmware update, but it’s still an issue. I’m currently running the latest firmware on both my socket (0.9.0.23) and my cam-v3 (4.36.9.139).
Has anyone else experienced this? Did you find a solution? I’d love to hear your insights or any troubleshooting steps I might have missed. Let’s figure this out together!
