Wyze Outdoor Camera Battery Life in Cold Weather

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my experience with the Wyze Outdoor V2 camera, particularly regarding battery life in cold weather conditions. I recently installed one in my garage, which is not insulated, and the temperatures have been quite chilly—dropping into the single digits at night.

To my surprise, the battery life was not as robust as I had hoped. The camera’s battery lasted only about a week under these conditions. While I understand that extreme cold can affect battery performance, I was expecting a bit more longevity, especially since the camera is designed for outdoor use.

One thing I noticed is that the LED does not flash when the connection status changes. This makes it harder to monitor the camera’s health without physically checking it. I wonder if others have experienced similar issues or if there are any tips to optimize battery life in such environments.

On a positive note, the camera’s video quality and motion detection have been excellent. It’s been a reliable addition to my security setup. I just wish the battery life could match the rest of its performance!

I’m curious to hear if anyone else has a Wyze Outdoor V2 in a similar environment and how it’s holding up. Any tips or tricks for extending battery life would be greatly appreciated!

Best regards,
