Hey everyone, I’m trying to figure out this Wyze sensor notification issue and thought I’d share my journey in case others have encountered the same thing. I’ve set up my Wyze sensors to work with IFTTT, which allows me to receive different sound alerts depending on which sensor is triggered. It’s a really handy feature, but I’ve hit a snag when trying to mute notifications for a few hours when I’m at home.
I’ve tried three different methods to disable notifications through the Wyze app:
- Turning off notifications in the account settings
- Creating rules to group sensors and turn off notifications
- Using the universal mute notifications shortcut
Unfortunately, none of these methods seem to work. It looks like Wyze isn’t applying these rules before IFTTT receives the notifications. This means I’m still getting alerts even when I don’t want them. I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this or if there’s a workaround I haven’t discovered yet.
In the meantime, I’ve found a temporary solution by using a third-party app to manage notifications, but it’s not as seamless as I’d hoped. I’d love to hear if others have successfully muted notifications for specific times or if they’ve encountered similar issues with IFTTT integration.
Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated! Let’s see if we can crack this puzzle together. ![]()
