Hello everyone, I recently installed the Wyze thermostat in my home, and while it works perfectly for heating, I’m facing some challenges with the air conditioning (AC) functionality. I’d like to share my experience and hopefully get some advice from the community.
First, let me describe my setup. I have a furnace with four wires: G, W, Y, and Rh. Originally, my thermostat used two AA batteries, which I believe means it didn’t have a common (C) wire. Following the Wyze instructions, I connected the wires as follows: Wyze’s R to the furnace’s Rc, W to W1, Y to Y1, and G to C. I also used a C-wire adapter to ensure proper power supply.
The issue I’m encountering is that when I switch to AC mode, the fan blows, but the compressor doesn’t activate. This is concerning because I need the AC to function properly, especially during the warmer months. I’ve double-checked all the connections, reset the thermostat, and even reinstalled it, but the problem persists.
Interestingly, when I revert to the old thermostat, the AC works without any issues. This makes me think the problem might be related to how the Wyze thermostat is configured or perhaps a compatibility issue with my furnace.
I’ve read through the Wyze documentation and some forum posts, but I haven’t found a solution yet. I’m wondering if others have experienced similar issues and if there are any workarounds or fixes. Maybe there’s a specific setting I need to adjust on the Wyze app or the thermostat itself?
Additionally, I’m curious about how others have successfully integrated their Wyze thermostats with their HVAC systems. Any tips or best practices would be greatly appreciated!
I’m determined to resolve this issue, and I’m hopeful that the community can provide some insights. Let me know if you’ve encountered something similar or have any suggestions. Thanks in advance for your help!
