Wyze Thermostat Wiring and Functionality Issues

Hi everyone, I’m trying to figure out why my Wyze thermostat isn’t working properly after rewiring it. I have a two-stage air conditioning system and a single-stage heating system. Previously, with an older thermostat, everything worked fine. However, after switching to the Wyze thermostat, I’m experiencing issues where the heating and cooling aren’t functioning as expected.

I have five wires running from my furnace to the thermostat: red (R), yellow (Y1), blue (Y2), green (G), and white (W). I removed a jumper between R and RC at the thermostat, as instructed. The furnace only has R, Y1, Y2, G, and W connected. Initially, the heater and first-stage AC turned on, but the second-stage AC didn’t seem to work properly. Now, nothing is functioning correctly.

I used the Wyze C adapter because there’s no common wire. This adapter connects R, Y1, G, and W1 from the thermostat to the furnace. The blue wire (Y2) is still connected directly between the furnace and the thermostat panel. Despite this setup, the thermostat doesn’t seem to control the system effectively.

I also installed the Wyze thermostat at my home, which has four wires between the furnace and thermostat, and it worked great there. However, I faced another issue where the cooling cycle was also triggered during the heating cycle, which was frustrating. I’ve been in contact with Wyze support for two months, but the issue remains unresolved.

I’m wondering if I’m wiring the thermostat correctly for a two-stage AC system with one-stage heating. What could be causing this problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, especially since this thermostat is in my mom’s home, and she relies on it for comfort.

Thank you in advance for your help!
