As a long-time user of Z-Wave technology, I’ve recently migrated from Vera to Home Assistant, and I must say, the transition has been mostly smooth. However, I’ve encountered a significant hurdle with the inclusion process using my Zooz ZST39 800 LR stick and the Z-Wave-JS-UI add-on. After successfully adding about 10 devices, the process became erratic. Most attempts resulted in timeouts, and I often had to restart the add-on for the device to appear. This inconsistency is frustrating, especially since my Vera setup worked seamlessly with the same devices.
I’ve reviewed the logs and noticed that while the zwave-js driver receives the inclusion message, the frontend doesn’t register it, leading to timeouts. This suggests a communication issue between the driver and the UI. I’ve tried increasing the inclusion timeout, restarting the add-on, and even resetting the devices, but the problem persists. It’s perplexing because the devices work fine with Vera, indicating the issue lies within the software or hardware setup in Home Assistant.
I’d like to know if others have faced similar issues and if there are workarounds or fixes. Is this a bug in zwave-js or zwave-js-ui, or could it be related to the Zooz stick? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Let’s hope the community can shed some light on this!
