I’ve been experiencing some frustrating lag issues with my Z-Wave network over the past few weeks. It used to be rock-solid, but now it’s intermittent and unreliable. I have 26 devices on my network, including the SmartThings Hub and an Aeon Z-Stick. Most of my multi-sensors work perfectly without any delays, but my locks and sockets are giving me trouble. When I press a button in the app, it can take up to 30 seconds for the device to respond. Once it does, it works fine, but then it goes back to being slow after a while. The Yale locks are the worst—they can take over a minute to respond and don’t report manual unlocks reliably.
I suspect one of the devices might be flooding the network, but I’m not sure how to identify which one. I’ve tried zwave repair, but it completes fine without any issues. I also have six non-Z-Wave Plus devices, which might be contributing to the problem. Should I remove all the non-Z-Wave Plus repeaters? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
