I recently started setting up my Z-Wave network with a C7 hub and have encountered a few hurdles. I wanted to share my experiences and see if anyone else has faced similar issues or has advice to offer.
The Setup Journey
I’ve successfully added around 20 Zen 27 Dimmers over the past few days, which has been a smooth process. However, the last couple of days have been quite challenging. I’m unable to get the hub to exclude or include any devices, regardless of the sequence I follow for module resets. This is particularly frustrating because I’ve invested a significant amount of time in getting these modules to pair with the C7.
The Issues I’m Facing

Failed Device Pairing: When a device fails to pair and initialize properly, I click “refresh” and then “remove.” Unfortunately, the device remains in the system, and this has happened with about six devices now.

Exclusion/Inclusion Problems: I’ve tried every possible method to exclude or include devices, but nothing seems to work. This has halted my progress entirely, and I’m desperate to avoid resetting the radio, which would be a massive setback.
Seeking Advice
Has anyone encountered similar issues? I’d greatly appreciate any tips or solutions. Whether it’s a workaround for failed devices or a troubleshooting step I might have missed, your insights would be invaluable.

Despite these challenges, I’m still excited about the potential of my Z-Wave network. Once these issues are resolved, I’m looking forward to fully integrating all my devices and exploring the endless possibilities of smart home automation.
