Z-Wave Yale Locks Connectivity Issues and Solutions

Hello everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with integrating Z-Wave Yale locks into my Home Assistant setup. After migrating from Hubitat HACS to HA using zwaveJS, I encountered some challenges that I thought might be helpful to discuss here.

Initially, I was able to successfully include my Yale locks (3x YRD 110 and 1x YRD226) into the network. However, immediately after inclusion, they became unresponsive and eventually dropped off the network. This was quite frustrating, especially since I had a strong Z-Wave network with over 60 repeaters in close proximity.

After some research and reaching out to the community, I discovered that this issue might be related to compatibility settings or firmware versions. I decided to try a few troubleshooting steps:

  1. Firmware Update: I checked if there were any firmware updates available for my Yale locks. Ensuring that all devices are on the latest firmware can sometimes resolve unexpected issues.

  2. Network Heals: I initiated a network heal in Home Assistant to see if it could re-establish a stable connection with the locks.

  3. Re-inclusion: As a last resort, I tried excluding and re-including the locks into the network. Surprisingly, this worked! The locks are now responsive and functioning as expected.

I wanted to share this experience in case others are facing similar issues. It’s a reminder that sometimes, a fresh start can make all the difference. I’m now more confident in my Z-Wave setup and looking forward to expanding my smart home further.

If anyone else has encountered this problem or has additional insights, I’d love to hear about your experiences!
