Zigbee Coordinator Recommendations and Troubleshooting Tips

Hi all, I’ve been really enjoying my Zigbee setup with zigbee2mqtt! It’s been a game-changer for integrating various smart devices seamlessly. I’m currently using a CC2531 USB stick with a built-in antenna, and it’s been performing well. However, I’ve heard rumors about a 20-device limit, and I’m quickly approaching that. I’m curious if others have experienced this and how they’ve worked around it.

I tried looking into other chipsets recommended by the zigbee2mqtt website, but they’re either unavailable or not as reliable. I’m wondering if adding another CC2531 dongle to my Raspberry Pi 4 would help, or if there are better alternatives out there. Maybe there are other coordinators that offer better performance or higher device capacities?

I’ve also heard that changing the Zigbee channel can improve network stability. Does anyone have experience with this? How does it affect existing devices and automations? I want to ensure that switching channels won’t disrupt my current setup.

Another thought: are there any third-party tools or scripts that can help manage a large Zigbee network more effectively? I’m open to exploring different solutions to optimize my setup.

Overall, I’m really excited about expanding my Zigbee network and would love to hear any tips or recommendations from the community. Let’s keep the conversation going and share our experiences!
