After struggling with my ConBee II USB stick for quite some time, I decided it was time to explore alternative ZigBee coordinators. My setup includes a mix of devices like Philips Hue, Aqara sensors, and Sonoff relays, totaling around 38 devices. While the ConBee II worked initially, reliability issues arose as I added more complex automations.
I’ve heard great things about the RaspBee II, especially since it’s been rock solid in a secondary location. However, I’m also considering the zh! as it’s recommended for zigbee2mqtt. I’m leaning towards the zh! for its DIY nature and reliability, but I’d love to hear others’ experiences with these coordinators.
On another note, I’ve been experimenting with integrating various devices into my Home Assistant setup. One challenge I faced was getting Spotify to work seamlessly with my Denon receiver and Chromecast Audio. After some trial and error, I found that using Home Assistant’s media player integration with Spotify was the key. It not only solved the connectivity issue but also allowed for more streamlined automations.
If anyone has tips on optimizing ZigBee networks or suggestions for reliable coordinators, I’d be happy to hear them! Also, for those looking to integrate more devices, I’d recommend starting small and gradually adding complexity to avoid overwhelming your network. Happy automating! ![]()
