Hi everyone, I’m reaching out to see if anyone has encountered and resolved an issue with Zigbee devices draining batteries excessively. I have a Samsung Multisensor and a Zigbee motion sensor, both of which have been functioning well for years. However, over the past couple of months, I’ve noticed a significant increase in battery consumption. The multisensor, which used to last several months on a single CR2450 battery, now barely makes it through a day or two. The motion sensor, powered by AAA batteries, is also experiencing similar issues but manages slightly better due to the higher capacity of AAA batteries.
I’ve tried troubleshooting by replacing the batteries with high-quality ones, ensuring proper installation, and even adding a Zigbee repeater to strengthen the signal. Despite these efforts, the problem persists. Both devices were working flawlessly before, so this recent change is puzzling.
Has anyone else faced this issue? If so, what steps did you take to address it? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I’m hoping to find a solution to extend the battery life of these devices without having to replace batteries constantly.
