Zigbee Devices Going Offline and Solutions

Hi everyone,

I’ve been having a strange issue with my Zigbee devices. Last night, all of them went offline at the same time. Nothing had changed on my end—it just happened while I was sleeping. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting one of my bulbs, but it didn’t work. I even unplugged the device and took out the batteries for an hour, then put everything back, but still no luck. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I’m really puzzled.

On a brighter note, I’ve been exploring different smart home setups, and I wanted to share some insights. For those of you considering a hub, I’ve heard great things about the Philips Hue Hub. It seems like it supports more brands than the Ikea Tradfri Hub, which is a big plus if you want flexibility. I’m thinking of switching myself, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the investment. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Another thing I’ve been curious about is setting up smart lights in tricky locations. I have a cellar with door and motion sensors, but the Z-Wave signal isn’t strong enough. I’ve tried using repeaters, but two walls seem to be too much for the signal. Does anyone have experience with protocols that have a better range than Z-Wave? I’d love to hear your suggestions.

Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with automating my heating system. I’ve set up a routine where the lights turn on and off at sunset, and it’s been working pretty well. However, I’m having trouble with the color and brightness settings. The lights turn on, but they don’t adjust to the preset levels. Any tips on how to troubleshoot this would be amazing.

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

Best regards,
Greg
