Zigbee Network Delays and Troubleshooting Tips

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with my Zigbee network after a day of maintenance on my home server. I noticed some huge delays in the network, which was quite frustrating. The Conbee II was directly connected to the host, and I started digging into the logs to see what was going on.

I noticed a lot of messages about delays in sending requests and APS-DATA.confirm errors. It seemed like some requests were timing out, especially for lights and other devices. I tried switching the Zigbee channel, but that didn’t seem to help. The setup hadn’t changed, and no new devices were added, so I was a bit puzzled.

After some research, I decided to reset the Zigbee network. I was hesitant because I didn’t want to lose all my device configurations, but I figured it was worth a try. To my relief, the network performance improved significantly after the reset. I also noticed that the delays were mostly happening during peak usage times, so I started optimizing the network by reducing the number of devices on the same channel.

If anyone else is experiencing similar issues, here are a few tips that might help:

  • Check the Zigbee channel for interference and switch if necessary.
  • Reset the network if the issue persists, especially if you’ve added or removed devices recently.
  • Optimize device placement to ensure better signal strength and reduce interference.

I’d love to hear if anyone else has encountered similar problems and how they resolved them. Happy troubleshooting! :rocket:
