Zigbee Repeater

I am not so much a fan of Zigbee, but Aqara has only a Zigbee vibration. The sensor right at the edge and the signal indicates weak. At times connectivity is lost. Any recommendations on what to use as Zigbee repeater?

Note that the Aqara switches are not available in Japan.

@European If you’re dealing with weak Zigbee signals and connectivity issues, there are some practical solutions to consider for enhancing your Zigbee network’s range and stability. While Aqara switches may not be available in Japan, you can still use Aqara Smart Plugs as effective Zigbee repeaters. These devices connect to your home’s electricity and can help extend your network range. Here’s how you can set it up:

  1. Position a Smart Plug: Place an Aqara Smart Plug within 7-10 meters of your Hub. This will help boost the Zigbee signal.

  2. Sensor Placement: Ensure your sensors are within a similar range from the Smart Plug to maintain a strong connection.

  3. Network Extension: Use additional Smart Plugs to further extend the network if needed, ensuring that each hop does not exceed 2 walls for optimal performance.

By setting up your Zigbee network this way, you should see an improvement in the connectivity and stability of your Aqara devices. Let us know how it goes, and feel free to share any further insights or questions!

Many smart plugs on Amazon.co.jp including Meross and TP-link, but not from Aqara.

Hello.
For critical automation (related to water leakage, security alarm) that operates in the absence of industrial voltage, I moved my M3 to an area where there is a direct link to Zigbee (even a low level).
Explanation: if there is no industrial voltage, the Zigbee channel organized through an intermediate repeater WILL BE BREAKING.
You can also try moving your router. Alternatively, you can buy a cheaper E1 gateway and run it closer to the device that needs a Zigbee signal.
Also, please note that to rebind a device with a Zigbee signal, you need to remove and reinstall the device so that it registers a new channel for operation.

Only the M2 and M100 hubs in addition to the M3 hub are available for purchase. Would either one work as Zigbee repeater?

Unfortunately, they will not work as a Zigbee repeater, these gateways can be placed closer to the sensors, bind the sensors to them (these gateways) so that the signal is stronger.
Additional question for you,
1- how weak is the Zigbee signal,
2- is there a break with the gateway often,
3- do the automations stop working?
I ask this because I have sensors in my house where the signal is very, very small but everything works fine, the main condition is that the gateway has a battery-powered uninterrupted power supply in case of a loss of the industrial network. Because when the gateway is overloaded (through the industrial network), the sensor reconnects.

Hello
In your region, the T2 relay is available and it is a Zigbee repeater and the relay is also a proxy hub and this is the advantage of this device.

The screenshot shows the official distributors in your region

Thanks @Raman.V . Unfortunately, the T2 relay does not seem to be sold in Japan. @AqaraOfficial can you please confirm?
