Hi everyone, I’m new to the Zigbee2MQTT world and I’m really excited to share my journey so far. I recently set up two instances using SLZB-06 and I must say, it’s been a fascinating experience. However, I’ve stumbled upon an interesting challenge that I thought I’d bring to the community for some brainstorming.
So, here’s the situation: After successfully pairing my devices, I wanted to rename them to something more user-friendly. But here’s the kicker—when I enable the ‘Home-Assistant-Entität aktualisieren’ option, all my entities become ‘nicht verfügbar’ and the devices stop responding in Home Assistant. It’s quite perplexing because the devices continue to function perfectly within Zigbee2MQTT. If I skip the renaming part, everything works seamlessly, but I end up with those long, technical names like ‘light.0x001788010dbb4417’. Not exactly the most elegant solution!
I’ve tried this with both versions 24.11 and 24.12, and the issue persists. I’m wondering if there’s a workaround or a best practice that I might be missing. Maybe there’s a way to rename entities without causing this hiccup? Or perhaps a setting I need to adjust in Home Assistant to make this process smoother?
On a lighter note, it’s been a great learning experience. I love how the community comes together to solve these puzzles. If anyone has faced a similar situation or has some insights, I’d be thrilled to hear your thoughts!
Cheers,
Matthias
