Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Zooz Power Strip and how I resolved an issue I was facing. Hopefully, this can help others who might encounter similar problems.
I recently upgraded the firmware on my Zooz Power Strip to version 2.0, following some recommendations from the community. However, I noticed that one of my two Zooz Power Strips was throwing errors in the logs. The errors were related to parsing issues and command failures, which I found concerning.
After some research, I came across an article suggesting that adjusting the power threshold might resolve the issue. The article recommended setting the threshold to 10W, which I did. However, the problem persisted, and I couldn’t figure out why.
I decided to dig deeper into the logs and noticed patterns in the errors. Many of them were related to unsupported commands or parsing issues. This made me think that maybe the firmware upgrade had introduced some instability, or perhaps there was a configuration mismatch.
I reached out to the community for advice, and someone suggested checking the device’s individual settings within the Hubitat app. Upon reviewing the settings, I realized that one of the power strips had an incorrect parameter configured. Specifically, the power threshold was set too low, which was causing the device to misinterpret normal operations as errors.
After resetting the threshold to the default value and ensuring all parameters were correctly set, the errors stopped, and the power strip began functioning normally again. It was a bit of a trial and error process, but persistence paid off!
This experience taught me the importance of thoroughly checking device settings after firmware updates and not hesitating to reach out to the community for support. If anyone else is experiencing similar issues, I’d recommend reviewing your device’s configuration and consulting the forums for troubleshooting tips.
Happy automating everyone!
