That’s what the update notices say ‘ONVIF supported’. But I cannot find or configure the G5 in the Synology IP-camera app. Other camera’s appear automatically in the list of found devices.
@fonny It seems like you’re experiencing some difficulties with configuring the G5 Pro in your Synology IP-camera app, even though the firmware update indicates that ONVIF support is included. Let’s go through a few things to check:
-
Ensure Firmware Update: Make sure your Camera Hub G5 Pro is indeed running the latest firmware version 4.3.4_0026.0017. Sometimes updates may need a manual confirmation or restart to fully apply.
-
Network Configuration: Verify that your camera and Synology Surveillance system are on the same network. ONVIF requires devices to be on the same local network for auto-discovery.
-
Check ONVIF Settings: In the Aqara Home app, ensure that the ONVIF option is enabled for your Camera Hub G5 Pro. There may be additional settings or permissions that need to be configured.
-
Manual Addition: If the camera doesn’t appear automatically, try adding it manually in the Synology IP-camera app using the camera’s IP address and ONVIF credentials.
-
Consult Community and Support: If these steps don’t resolve the issue, consider reaching out to the Aqara community for additional insights or contacting the Aqara support team for specialized assistance.
It’s great to see you actively engaging with the new features and sharing your experience. Your feedback is invaluable for continuous improvements. Let’s keep the conversation going, and hopefully, you’ll be able to fully leverage the ONVIF support soon!
- I cannot find Check ONVIF Settings in the Home app.
- Tried Manual Addition but doesn’t verify
- Hi, any folks there who can help?
@fonny It sounds like you’re having trouble finding the ONVIF settings for your Camera Hub G5 Pro in the Aqara Home app and are experiencing issues with manual addition in the Synology IP-camera app. Unfortunately, the reference information provided does not include specific details on accessing ONVIF settings within the Aqara Home app.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. I recommend reaching out to the Aqara community for insights or contacting the Aqara support team for specialized assistance. Their expertise could be very helpful in resolving these specific configuration issues.
Please also consider the possibility that there might be a need to update the app or check for any additional documentation or forums that might provide a solution. Let’s continue to collaborate and find a solution together!
Hi, I’m not sure about Survivalence Station, but I was able to add my G5 Pro to Hikvision NVR using ONVIF. For that you need to have RTSP enabled in Aqara app, and then use IP, login and password provided in RTSP section of the Aqara app. I have now 24/7 recordings, but unfortunately, probably due to implemented ONVIF version restrictions, no information about events discovered by camera are passed to NVR. Hope it helps
Hi Aqara!
Is there any news about the 24/7 recording to NAS?
@mostek,
Hi, Thanks.
I can write to the NAS and have 24/7 recordings via RTSP with the same restrictions but I can not add it to the Synology Surveillance Station via ONVIF.
Today I updated G5 cameras to Fw 4.3.6 and app 5.2.5. However I still cant see continuous recording option to NAS. NAS is connected, but only optuon is event video or stop recording
This was a positive development. But is there a view anywhere of what is actually still paywalled.
NAS is a free feature
I got an Aqara G5Pro camera today. I installed the app, registered. But I was not given Free Cloud Storage for 6 months, as it is written on the Aqara forum. Aqara G5 Pro: Your Feedback in Action – New Features & Improvements Announced!
How can I get it?
I want to tell you that there is a funny mistake in translation to German into the App.
Where you can adjust the resolution,
it should not say „flüssig“
And if you have a slow WIFI connection it shouldn’t say „Flüssigkeiten“
Thanks for the AI Improvements
Thanks for not just listening to the feedback, but actually taking it onboard and implementing good changes
Can i use the G5 Pro Wifi as a motion sensor in Homeassistant?
If yes, how does it works?
Hi , You can use the signal creation function, then it can be added to HA via the matter bridge of the Aqara hub to which you bind it.
G5 POE is a must have. Definitely game changer in my set up
Anyone tested out the feature of NAS recording or using the ONVIF protocol to add the camera to NVR? Can I display recordings using the aqara app after connecting them? Really curious about the features as there is not much info about it.
