I have an Aqara HUB M3 and 3 Door and Window Sensors P2. I’m trying to add the Sensors to the hub via matter with the Aqara Home app on my IPhone. And unfortunately that doesn’t work. Can’t pair any of the 3 sensors. The app detects the sensor. Then I scan the matter code. The app says it’s connecting to the sensor. (it detects it is a sensor). Then the app says it’s setting up and that fails after a while.
I am sure the matter network works since there are already other devices connected to the matter hub, 3 aqara motion sensors P2, and about 11 shelly matter plugs. The matter network is also connectd to my home assistant and I can access all matter devices in home assistant as well.
Any ideas what I can do to pair the door & windows sensors to the Aqara hub?
I already searched the internet and didn’t find much I didn’t try yet except forcing everything, hub , phone & sensor to 2,4GHz so I did that , didn’t help
Keen to see what info you get here, I’m in the same boat, I’ve tried everything, P2 Door sensors or even third party matter devices like Lifx Lightbulbs get to step 3 of the setup, and then will ALWAYS fail to proceed.
Unfortunately, I also couldn’t connect it to Aqara Home directly. If you connect it first to Homekit and take the code there, then it connects to Aqara Home, but without HK or another matter platform, it doesn’t work.
iOS . @Nicholas.Aqara
I’ve recently updated my Phone to IOS 18.5 and still can’t add the Door sensors. I’ve tried adding them to homekit but that didn’t work either. So far the devices are completely useless. And, I still can add other devices to my matter network. It’s really related tot he Door sensors.
I updated my iPhone to 18.6 beta, but I still have the same error.
I also tried to do the same with Aqara app installed on my Mac. And it is also giving me the same error.
Don’t really want to try ios26 yet…
Based on the snapshots you provided, it doesn’t appear to be a bug in iOS 18.4. Instead, it seems that your phone is unable to discover the Primary Matter Hub (M3) on the same local network.
Please make sure that your phone and the M3 hub are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, and check if features like AP Isolation or mDNS are disabled on your router, as they may prevent local discovery.
Let us know if the issue persists after checking these settings.
It helped when I simply switched off all 5 GHz on my router and turned on 2.4 GHz
I was able to connect to my normal Aqara Zigbee devices on 5GHz before.
It says m3 can work on 5ghz network, but it does not in the correct way.
This same thing happened to me. Press the reset button for a long time. Until you see a purple light flash. Then back to blue. After this try to pair again. Should work
