Hello, it worked for me in a test. Check if other automation does not fail. Another question, in which region do you live, when does the sunrise occur, does the sunrise fall within the specified period (camera Off)?
Hi, check which other automation does work, as mentioned the delay 4.5 hours one works.
Sunset is currently 20:17 and sunrise is 05:36 in Essex so it looks like it’s within the time frame.
I assume you mean light off not camera off.
Thanks.
Yes, definitely, I’m talking about turning off the lights (spotlight).
Was the automation with a delay of 4.5 hours turned off during the test period?
Yes the 4.5 hours automation was off while testing the new one.
What I found with the new automation was the light never came on at sunset, which is odd as it’s the same setting as the 4.5 hour automation.
I.e. at sunset turn the camera light on ?

Interesting, I’ll check it again.
Try creating the automation again, from scratch. And check if it’s not cloud-based.
Hello, I investigated the cause of the malfunction of the sunrise, sunset automation. When creating the automation, you need to re-select the country, region (city) by which time the sunrise/sunset should be started. If you select an already prepared location that the automation offers, then it does not work.
Hi, so you mean change the location and then back to the correct location for both sunset and sunrise.
On a new automation.
Thanks
No, just re-select the country, city.
Do not use the ready-made one that is in the automation when selecting.
Ok so you mean manually select United Kingdom and then your town, instead of the auto locate my area method.
Do I still need the acting times (between these time ranges)
Thanks
Yes…
I will let you know if it works, thank you ![]()
Still not working, the light never came on at sunset.
Hello, I will reply in a day. I want to check another suspicion regarding automation.
Ok no problem thanks
Hello, you can also check. I suspect that the automation in the pair only works on the first trigger. Try it yourself, make new automations from your old one, and split it into two independent automations. Be sure to insert the time in the THEN section.
I’m talking about EAST/WEST conditions.
Ok I’ve done two separate automations now, one for sunset and one for sunrise.
Let’s see if that works.
Thanks
