I posted earlier while completely frustrated with trying to get these two devices online and fully functional.
I’m going to try and calmly explain the issues I’ve had in hopes that someone will have a resolve.
First I wired in the T1M and restored power with the original switch still connected.
The light powered on as expected… I disconnected power to now wire in the H2 switch. Once done I restore power… green lights are flashing on the new switch but the T1M fixture is not illuminating.
I begin the pairing process for the switch in the Aqara app. I chose thread (app reported thread already in use) once the pairing process begins it stops with a message that a thread border router is needed.
I have a HomePod on the network along with an Apple tv Ethernet wired… so this shouldn’t be an issue.
Also worth mentioning that I received this same message while pairing the U400 lock… I honestly don’t remember how I found a workaround… but I believe I was able to pair it in HomeKit instead of the native Aqara app?
So… I gave up on attempting to pair the switch with the G3 or G410 hubs via thread. Instead I changed over to Zigbee… and I was successfully able to pair the switch with the G3 hub via zigbee.
Now I still have no connection to the T1M that is not responding to the new switch and is it illuminated to attempt any pairing process.
After some time brainstorming what I could possibly do to get this thing going… I decided to remove the new H2 switch and replace the original switch to attempt pairing the T1M.
Once the original switch was back in place and power restored the light responded and was illuminated as it should.
Pairing became an issue that caused some real frustration… but in the end I moved the G3 hub to the room that is being outfitted with the new T1M… and it worked.
T1M paired I once again disconnect the power and reinstall the H2 switch… restore power and… nothing!
The switch appeared to work as expected (indicator lights/app working. However the T1M would not respond in app or from physical switch. In app it reports the device is offline.
Waited for about an hour in hopes that things would “heal” and everything would go back online and work.
That didn’t happen.
So… I once again disconnect power to remove the T1M to make absolutely sure that the unit was receiving power. Capped the wires on the ceiling and restored power. This time the switch did not respond… no indicator lights… and in app it reports that the switch is “on” I then tested to be sure that current was coming to the fixture… and it is receiving power.
The indicator lights remained off… and in app I good not turn off the switch.
At this point I’ve removed both the switch and the fixture… capped up the wires and restored power. I don’t have a working light in the bedroom it was intended for.
I’m really hoping I can get some solid help on what way have gone wrong… and more importantly… how I might fix it!
Please help!!!
Hello,
Please take a look at your original post.
I reply to you.

Hello, my vision of the problem. The T1M lamp wants constant power, this is necessary so that you can control the Off/On lamp from a smart home. This control is carried out by a smart switch (untethered) or. wireless switch. The second problem in my opinion is connecting the H2 switch without a neutral wire, which leads to a malfunction of H2 (de-energizing). Although I use a switch without neutral without any problems. Check the H2 connection diagram. Everything I described refers to the Zigbee protocol. Here is the automation for a pair of lamp switches.Automation 2.0, lesson 7. Controlling Aqara smart lamps using switches (wired and wireless)
Thank you both for your help. The problem is resolved… and was related to the neutral wire not properly connected. In the back of the box was a 4wire push in connector (something I’ve never encountered) Apparently I did not push in the wire to make a consistent connection. Rewired the switch with neutral properly connected and everything works as expected!
