This looks like just what I need, really struggling to fit my G5 in front of my garage using the supplied mount unless I fit it upside down and the speaker grille looks too vulnerable to water ingress to be at the top. This could be the answer to my problem, excited to hear of a UK launch date.

Hey Donie, is there an option to get a stl. for existing G5 to modify them?
Guys, the new G5 Pro produced at the end of September will be equipped with the new bracket, but there is currently no timetable for purchasing a separate new bracket. The data feedback from the sales department shows that there are not many users who need this bracket, so you can raise your voice on more platforms to let them see it.

This not cool. I bought 4 cameras and have been patiently waiting across summer for the official modified mount. I can’t imagine what sales data has been acted upon but it certainly hasn’t been well publicised outside this forum.

I’m sorry, my R&D department leader told me that this is encrypted data belonging to the company and cannot be provided to users. I am still in communication with the sales department, and I am working hard to show them feedback on the content of this post. I believe they will provide a plan to sell this bracket separately.

Tbh pretty much most in the UK would need the new bracket so I’m not sure the sales department understands geographic differences.
The delay in getting this bracket out in the UK forced me to get 6 Reolink cameras fitted this week instead of G5 Pro’s which I was holding out for.
In all fairness I think Aqara have made a small problem more difficult than it needed. All they needed to do with the new G5 is put a thread on the rear of the camera housing then we could have had a choice of 3rd party brackets to choose from which wouldn’t have harmed Aqara profits at all, in fact it probably would have increased them as more people would have bought the camera.
Certain things need to be universal and this is a good example of where that could have been applied.

Well this sucks! Bought the additional camera for my backyard because this thread said they were coming. Nice bait and switch.

It’s really nice to see Aqara fixing a problem with the mount. Firstly, many users/buyers do not provide feedback about the issue they face which in this case is a faulty mount design. Just a quick search on Reddit will show uses complaining about this issue and how they tried to remedy the situation. Secondly, how will new buyers be able to tell if the camera includes the new mount. I think Homedepot has just started selling the 32 GB adding to the confusion. Great camera but the issue of 8GB vs 32GB versions and the new mount should be clearly addressed. Thanks
