I currently have 458 Aqara devices installed, but Home Assistant only shows 369 Matter devices — and that number even includes some Matter devices that aren’t Aqara at all.
What I can’t see are things like the smart locks, thermostats, air-quality sensors, and LED drivers. Yes, all of these are products that aren’t officially available in Europe… but that probably isn’t the reason they’re invisible in HA. I can see other non-EU devices just fine (like the downlights), because my hubs are all connected to Home Assistant.
So here’s my question:
Does anyone know a method — or maybe an add-on — that would allow me to expose those missing devices to Home Assistant?
Of course I could pair them directly via Zigbee, but then they disappear from the Aqara app and I’d need to build a completely separate Zigbee network big enough to cover my entire house. And that’s not exactly a practical solution right now.
Any ideas?

You sure are doing your part to keep Aqara in business!
I don’t have an answer for you - just anecdotal data about locks. I have several Aqara locks. U100, U300, B50. Somewhat frustratingly each has it’s own methods of connection. If the device has native homekit support (like U100) you should be able to use the HomeKit controller functionality to pair it. Perhaps this could apply for your locks?
I would guess the thermostat is the same reason we don’t have T2 support or FP300 support. The Home Assistant coalition feels like a marketing ploy.
My T2’s won’t work with Home Assistant because I’m stuck on thread mode and they won’t operate. But to Aqara’s credit, they did refund me for my bulbs.
Hi @JohnD, thanks for your reply and the questions. In total, I’m running 13 hubs across the house:
2 × Wall Hub V1
7 × S1+ panels
2 × M3
1 × M2
1 × M300
The M300 is brand-new and only there for testing, so no devices are paired to it yet. The other hubs each have anywhere from 2 to about 90 devices connected.
From what I can tell, the core issue is that many device types simply aren’t defined in the Matter standard yet (for example: smart locks). Because of that, they won’t show up in Home Assistant through Aqara’s Matter bridge. The S1 Air Quality Sensors (Aqara 空气监测面板 S1- Aqara 全屋智能) are a good example. They’re older, but still the only Aqara devices capable of measuring CO₂ — which is absolutely crucial for sleep quality, cognitive performance and general wellbeing. I use their values to control decentralized ventilation units in the bedrooms to keep air quality stable.
Unfortunately, these sensors also don’t appear in Apple Home; they’re only visible and usable in the Aqara App.
A small but very important request to the @AqaraOfficial team:
Please consider integrating CO₂ sensing into thermostats or other mainstream devices.
It would make a huge difference for your customers’ comfort, health and overall home experience.
