Girl that door and lock are filthy.
So although Aqara was kind enough to give me a $20 off coupon code after dead line had even ended. I could only be used from buying from here and not Amazon. So bit the bullet and just bought on Amazon . No offense much easier in USa to buy from amazon directly you get it fast.
So i removed and replace my old Yale Door lock and moved it over to Garage door. Installing was fairly easy. I did add it to the Aqara app 1st. But unfortunately would not connect to Apple homekit it did install there. So then i had to remove as Aqara app would not see it. On the 2nd Try i Aqara saw and also saw to add to Apple homekit. Set up everything and even added to Alexa as well.
1- So far everything is all set up but even though UWB is working it is not very peppy and respondent. No sure Why some time takes a me standing there few seconds before light pops on that UWB opened.
Any Advice there would be nice.
2- Small tip i learned for any one who sets the auto lock to be instant. I like door to lock when it closes. But don’t want it to lock when open and bringing Groceries or anything like that. So see my pics what i did and it works is in Aqara App have set to Instantly Auto lock and in Apple homekit have set for 5 min so when door is wide open bringing in anything stays unlocked for 5 min once i close it locks right away.
Is this gonna be available in UK, hope the motor is not crap as u200 lock…
I can wait for this lock to be on my door!
The lock has been up and running for a number of weeks, and overall it’s been great.
Pros
UWB - amazing tech everyone in the house loves just walkign up to the door and it magically unlocking
Speed - motor is great compared to the previous lock. It unlocks very fast and hasn’t had jamming issues.
Look and feel - good size and good feel to it
Cons
Set-up - complex smart home setups might have headaches. I run Home Assistant and an Apple ecosystem. But my netowrk vlan set-up was making it tough to get everything to play nice. Figured it out and haven’t had issues since. This is more of a Matter short-coming and limitation with vlans
Home Assistant Support - Again might be a Matter limitation, but the controls and data are limited. Would love to see the door status, code management, and most important which code or person unlocked exposed to HA. Don’t know which are Matter limitations vs Aqara gaps at the moment.
Overall this is a great lock and the UWB support alone made it well worth the upgrade.
I think I’m going to try this thing out and get rid of my Level lock
That’s what I did, I removed my Level Lock Pro and I’m glad I gave it a try. The Level Lock Pro is nice, looks great and works well.
The Aqara U400 simply has so much more to offer and works just as good if not better. UWB alone is enough to swap out Locks.
When you walk up to the door, it unlocks and puts a smile on your face as you walk in. (It’s weird) ![]()
Is this lock compatible with Apple Home Kit?
My front door is newer and the seals are I guess “tight”. When we close our door we have to push on it just slightly to lock the deadbolt. Does anyone have any recommendations? It’s really the only reason I haven’t made the move to a smart deadbolt.
One question: is it anti-picking?
Got Dufy locks last year with all their cameras. Feeling Aqara has really moved up in the game in the past 16 months since I bought everything. Convincing myself to not start over again to switch/consolidate ecosystems.
Hi everyone,
One of the biggest benefits for me is early morning runs with my dog. My wife is usually still sleeping, and with the U400 I can just walk out the door without grabbing keys or worrying about noise. No pockets, no key jingle, no double-checking the lock.
The UWB unlock has been very consistent. I approach the door, it unlocks automatically, and I’m out. When I get back, the auto-lock kicks in, which has been huge for peace of mind. I used to have those moments later in the day where I’d think, “Did I lock the front door?” That’s completely gone now.
Day to day, it just fades into the background, which is exactly what I want from a smart lock. It works quietly, reliably, and removes friction from a routine I do every single day.
If you’re someone who runs, walks a dog, or just wants to leave the house without thinking about keys or whether the door is locked, this has been a noticeable upgrade.

Love the U400 but even move excited about the W200 coming out.
coolll
Never got it but would love to test it out if you guys are still looking! Thank you ![]()
Looking amazing
I would really love to get a ULOCK 400 to replace my current Homekey U50. But I have to admit, the jump from $110 to $270 makes is a little hard to justify just for the one functional improvement of walk-up unlock (especially sine we both generally use our Apple Watches for the lock and dont have to get out our phones)
Worth it over the Schlage for sure ?
This lock was easy to install. I love just walking up to the door and having it unlock for me. So far battery life seems to be good. I definitely recommend this lock. SmartLockU400
