Those are good news but still we do not have matter 1.5 on Apple HomeKit and I do not know if google and Alexa have 1.5 yet.or I am wrong here?

Apple has not even implemented 1.4 yet. It just recently introduced it in the iOS27 Beta release which is not due out to the public till September.

Pretty embarrassing if you ask me. I would have fired so many people by now.

Agree with you. in the past years Apple is way behind technology but they have the courage to say that they are the best and have the best of the best ppl :rofl::rofl: and they are still way behind android with many things.just look what they did on ios26 and now they say they improving ios27 stability but they drop support on 5 Apple Watch witch will still tuning watchOS 26 witch is buggy and laggy also batterie draining.

First, they need to make Siri smart.

John: Please close the blinds.

Siri: Okay.

John: Please turn on the kitchen light.

Siri: You haven’t configured any smart devices in your home.

John: Grrr :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Good point but still making Siri smart doesn’t need to take out Apple Watches witch are already have Siri on them.but if they did then make an version without new Siri keep the old one as it is an provide the new updates.but as we all agree by now Apple is to lazy to do all that so instead to provide updates to their users was best to eliminate 5 watches out and with this say”screw you” if you want new Siri buy an new watch even if the ultra and serie 8 are only 3 years old and the SE2 is 2 years old I think.:rofl::rofl:

Yes, I could understand old Apple Watches no longer receiving updates, if they actually gave a reason for it. For example, because they want to implement great new features in iOS27 that the watches’ hardware can no longer support. But, so far, they haven’t explained it, and in other places, they’re perfectly capable of programming things so that certain features simply aren’t available on older models. I can only guess, and I suspect the watches’ hardware just doesn’t support the optimisations they’ve made to speed up apps, etc. But we’ll see if they come up with a reasonable explanation, or if it’s really just laziness or cost-cutting.

I can sort of understand them saying that “Siri AI” and the other AI stuff will only work with newer hardware. AI simply requires a good NPU, and memory, memory, and even more memory. Especially considering they want to run (almost) everything locally.

But what I really don’t get is that they build Thread into the iPhone, yet otherwise treat the smart home sector rather neglectfully.

Yep each year we see small things add to Apple home app.if I am telling you that I call Apple 2 months ago with the issue I had with my Apple TV and HomePods that every day I saw many times my Apple devices with “Network issue”on my Apple home app lights that turning on by themselves with are added only on Apple home and till today I didn’t get an answer or an call after a month of taking the logs and such they didn’t had idea why I see all that.but the funny part it that they changed the structure of Apple home and didn’t bother to check if all routers will let Apple devices to comunícate well as HUAWEI routers block those communications, as the firewall see them as an threat to the home network and block them many times per day.was an pain for me in the past months.now that I switched to Deco X50 making some setups and now I have an stable smart home at least for now.but this not thanks to Apple in any case as they not even bother to call me after the ios26.5 release.also do not expect Apple to give explications as they won’t.they could update the Apple Watch Ultra same as they update iPhone 11 , an watch that cost 1000 euros to get only 3 years of updates it is lame.if they go this road for sure they will slowly fall as ppl will stop buying new devices since they each year bring just a tiny update and to get only 2/3 years of updates doesn’t worth spending the money they ask.

Last year for ex they stop update iMac 2019 just because they sad that this iMacs won’t run Liquid Glass mine is i3 with 32 memory ram and 1T solid hard drive I run on it Photoshop almost everyday and android studio in the same time as I design icon packs for android and Samsung also did back on the jailbreak days many themes for iPhones and even today I have some icon packs on Gumroad for iPhones.both photoshop and android studio needs a lot of resources and they run perfectly on my iMac without issues or slowing my iMac.but the funny part is that on my iMac I never had issues with “network issues” on Apple devices just on my iPhone.now I have ios27 beta and I will love to see how the new feature as with camera and energy consumption will be in the next beta updates as of now I do not see nothing even if I do have 3 plugs that could show me the energy consumption.

Home Assistant is now Matter 1.5.1 and soon to be 1.6

Personally I do not care about home assistant manly because the only smart devices that I have and are not compatible with HomeKit are from Xiaomi witch I already have Xiaomi app installed do not see the point having home assistant too since the rest of my smart home is controlled from Apple home app.

This forum thread helps me remember the Matter rollout plan with Aqara Cameras

I think you are confusing Thread with Matter. It is Thread 1.4 that is in iOS 27.

Apple have a patchy implementation of Matter. e.g. vacuums are Thread 1.4 compliant. However, in iOS27 they are finally implementing power usage, which came from Matter 1.3.

Yeah Apple is to lazy on adding new stuffs but I am using ios27 beta2 and I still do not see the use of the power as that only shows on some smart plugs and only when they are in use but you can’t see an graphic of the consumption or can’t do automations base on power or energy like I do on aqara app for example

Isn’t it down to if the Smart Plug supports Matter 1.3?

I can see a whole new raft of apps coming for Apple based on EnergyKit that will show the power.

Looking forward for full matter implementation on Aqara products !

Sure thread plugs as my Meross thread plugs show the power but that’s it and also showing the power only when they are in use at least that is what shows me with the beta2

I appreciate any update on the matter standard but with ecosystems like Apple Home taking ages to implement, its just half the fun :frowning:

All systems take ages :rofl: and even if google or amazon add it for sure will have issues.for me right now what Apple did on ios27 works perfectly how it is with the devices I have

Yeah you’re right! I mentioned Apple Home as it’s the main system I use besides home assistant and can’t compare to google or Alexa
