I’m an old Aqara user, having equipped my home with many Aqara D1 Wall Switches (UK), B1 Curtain motors, as well as a number of Aqara D1 Wireless switches.
I’ve been mainly a Homekit user, but now that my smart home has grown bigger, I started using Home Assistant for advanced monitoring and automation, and to make customized dashboards.
I was excited by Aqara’s Everything Matter announcement, and got myself an M100 hub to give it a go, in hope that I can integrate my old devices with Home Assistant without losing my Homekit setup.
I was very disappointed that my existing devices DO NOT SUPPORT MATTER!
Aqara, please, as a long-term user, I seek clarity on your roadmap for enabling matter support for these devices.
@cer_ahmed Thank you for sharing your experience and for being a long-term Aqara user. I understand how exciting it is to expand your smart home setup and integrate more advanced systems like Home Assistant. However, I also empathize with your disappointment regarding the Matter support for your existing devices.
Currently, Aqara supports Matter with certain devices, such as the Hub M3, motion sensor P2, and door sensor P2. Additionally, most of the Aqara 3.0 Zigbee gateways can function as Matter bridges, although the G2H Pro is an exception. Unfortunately, the specific devices you mentioned—Aqara D1 Wall Switches and B1 Curtain motors—are not listed among those that currently support Matter.
While I don’t have detailed information about future updates or support for these devices, I encourage you to keep an eye on Aqara’s official announcements and product promotional materials for any updates regarding Matter integration. Meanwhile, engaging with the community here might also provide insights and potential workarounds from other users who might have faced similar challenges.
Your feedback is invaluable, and I’ll make sure to pass it on to the team for consideration in future developments. If you have any further questions or thoughts, feel free to share!
@cer_ahmed We are gradually integrating Aqara products into Matter comprehensively. Due to the large number of Zigbee products, it will take some time. The products you mentioned are expected to be integrated into Matter by Q3 2025. We appreciate your patience and understanding!
