If you pay attention to the latest product status of Aqara, you will find that Aqara is the only manufacturer in the world that has released Matter Camera and obtained CSA certification so far. This product is the latest G350 launched in Chinese Mainland. It uses powerful hardware to support the operation of HomeKit, Matter and Aqara’s own functions at the same time. Its overseas version will be sold soon.
We prioritize supporting the Matter Camera feature in our newly launched products. For old Aqara cameras, it is already difficult to natively support Matter through the device itself (as explained in my post below). We will indirectly make the old camera support Matter by using an Aqara Bridge device (partially supporting the Matter Controller Aqara Hub, likes the Hub M3), which means that your G4 doorbell will need to be paired with an Aqara Hub M3 or other hub to use the Matter feature in the future. Our support plan for old cameras will be arranged gradually for firmware iteration support based on the availability of development resources. We will post a message in the forum after the feature is developed, and you can directly contact me for an opportunity to test it in advance.
Of course, I need to be very clear to you that currently there are very few official client programs (apps or computer clients) that support Matter Camera. Only Samsung Smartthings has released their app to support testing, and they rely on a Samsung Matter Controller hub. Other ecosystems, including Home Assistant, do not have support plans yet. You need to figure out how to test this feature.
