New Aqara user - automation logic on Home/Away

Hi all,

I’m currently switching from Xiaomi to Aqara and i just bought an Aqara M100 Hub and a G100 Camera.

What I’m trying to achieve: create an automation that turns the G100ON” (armed) when both me and my wife leave home, and turns it “OFF” (disarmed) when one of us returns!

When i go to “Automations” > “+” > “IF” > “Enter/Exit Location” - I can add both our phones as triggers but the app won’t allow me to use “All conditions are met”, which I assume is required to ensure both people have left. I get the error: “Conditions cannot be met simultaneously”.

I think I’m misinterpreting the logic for this automation! Any kind soul around here could spare a moment to help me figure it out?

Gear / Context:

  • Hub: Aqara M100 (latest firmware);

  • Camera: Aqara G100 (latest firmware);

  • Phones: Both Android: Google Pixel 9 pro + Redmi note 9 Pro;

  • Region: Europe / Portugal;

  • App: Aqara Home (allready connected to google home)

  • Both users added under Home › Members, location permissions Always, battery optimization disabled.

I tried googling a solutions but didn’t find anything and spent a fair amount of time trying to troubleshooting it with ChatGpt - but he kept asking me to do thinks that were impossible to achieve (not valid option on the Aqara home app…)

Would really appreciate a bit of guidance from anyone who’s set this up before — or from someone who knows if this is even possible!

Thanks in advance!

Hi Raman. V! Thank you for your answer!
Thats a very creative and interesting solution for the problem - loved it! Unfortunately i don’t have a 2 Ch relay from aqara (or matter compatible… only gen 1 and 2 Shellys)!

There is also a solution if you read the topic completely with the creation of automation that will never happen (for example, the temperature on the temperature sensor drops to -40 and some action) this will act as a trigger.
In general, look at all the messages in the topic above and you will understand what I mean.
I hope I was able to help you and you will solve your problem.
