@KolloApple Thanks for sharing your interest in the new Aqara Video Doorbell G400! It’s always exciting to see new devices making their debut, especially one with such promising features.

Based on your YouTube transcript and currently available reference details, here’s what we know about the Aqara G400 so far:

  • Connectivity: The G400 is Aqara’s first doorbell to support both Wi-Fi and PoE (Power over Ethernet), offering more flexibility for different installation requirements and ensuring stable 24/7 local recording.
  • Video Quality: It delivers 2K resolution for clear and crisp video, combined with a 165-degree head-to-toe vertical view—making it great for capturing visitors from packages on the ground to tall guests.
  • Weatherproofing: The G400 boasts an IP65 all-weather design, so it should stand up well to rain, dust, and other challenging outdoor conditions.
  • On-Device AI: AI person detection happens on the device itself, which means faster alerts and improved privacy.
  • Privacy & Smart Home Integration: It supports HomeKit Secure Video, ensuring that your video footage remains private and secure. Plus, it offers broad compatibility with other major smart home ecosystems.
  • Local Storage: The PoE capability and local 24/7 recording suggest reliable, always-on operation (though the exact storage details are yet to be confirmed).

While these highlights make the G400 look like a fantastic addition to the Aqara lineup, please note that some finer details—such as battery backup, chime options, and exact app features—haven’t been fully published yet. If anyone in the community has hands-on experience or additional specs, please jump in and share!

Let’s keep the discussion going—if you spot more details or have specific questions about setup or integrations, feel free to ask. The G400 is shaping up to be a game-changer for smart video doorbells!

I have the G4, then was able to do the beta test for the G410, now they have the 400 which has a few features i want… wondering if Aqara is willing to do any trade up option for us long time owners.

Been putting off buying a doorbell until I see what’s released at the end of the year. Glad this has WiFi as well since running ethernet out of the front door isn’t really an option for me. Just hope there’s decent Home Assistant integration outside of Homekit.

Been waiting for a Homekit enabled POE doorbell for years!
Does anyone know when this will be released?

I’m in the same boat as you on this! the G5 Pro POE is my first of what I hope is several POE cameras in/around my home. I want to have a hardwired camera for the doorbell with ability to utilize 24/7 recording to review footage while maintaining the doorbell features like manual chime and ping my and or my wife’s phones when they ring. compatible with a network attached storage is also important if I go that route! I am excited and waiting for an update

I have a G4 currently. I’d be very interested in a G400 to replace it.

I am very excited for this new doorbell. I’m sorry, but the current G4 & G410 have a profile that is too large for my and I would guess many peoples homes. The fact that this have the option for POE is just a great bonus. Can’t wait to get my hands on this!

There was no mention of the G400 at CES 26 whatsoever, anyone know anything on a potential release date?

This doorbell looks great and the slim profile will work on pretty much any door. I love the dual power options.

I only saw it mentioned once in this video from Smart Home Tested: Aqara Stand Walkthrough at CES 2026 U400, FP400, P100 and More!

Any updates on release date? I know this was also shown off at CES but I am moving house and planning all the wiring and need to know if this will be released in time for me to implement it or should I look elsewhere. Please let me know as I love your products and already have purchased 6 of your camera, just need to know if I can wait for this or not.
Thanks

I am looking to replace my Nest doorbell. Looking at the G410 right now, but the G400 would fit better (don’t need battery) and looks far more weather resistant. Would love to know more about when the G400 might be available.
