Welcome to the forum @moe313!

Do you have any questions to get you going? Not sure what you’re interested in as far as Smart Home, but might I recommend the Water Leak Sensors and Water Shut-off valve? This is a key system I think every homeowner would benefit from to stop expensive damage and insurance headaches.

Enjoy!

First sit down and think about your daily routine. From the moment you wake up till the moment you lay back down in bed to fall asleep.

The sensors and useful automations will likely involve light bulbs or light switches. Keep things simple, the Motion and Light Sensor P2 can be a good start in any area where an automation is wanted. I recommend using Smart bulbs in lamps to start because it’s very simple and easy to setup and use. Aqara’s T2 color bulb is another example and works great with the P2 sensor.

Setting up those two items should be just enough to give you the smart home bug and you will be off to the races… Keep it simple

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! Really appreciate all the helpful links and suggestions — I’m already diving into the documentation and tutorials you shared.

I like the idea of starting simple with motion + light sensors, and I’ll definitely look into the P2 sensor and the T2 bulbs. The water leak sensor suggestion also caught my attention — that seems like something every setup should have.

I’m still exploring my daily routine to see where automations would make the biggest impact, but all your tips are giving me a clear direction.
If I run into anything specific, I’ll be sure to ask. Thanks again for guiding a newcomer like me!
